FAQ:What is the Monumental Ball?

A: It’s a celebration of our neighborhood. It’s a party where friends and neighbors can have fun. It’s also a fund-raiser for the Morningside Lenox Park Association.

FAQ: When is it?

A: Friday, October 16, 7:00-11:00 p.m. at Magnolia Hall in Piedmont Park.

FAQ: Where does the money go?

A: Proceeds from the Monumental Ball fund the maintenance of our neighborhood monuments. You’ve seen the big square pillars topped with classical urns that grace Morningside and Lenox Park. They were created by a well-known architectural firm, Ivey and Crook (1923-1967). The pillars need upkeep--the Morningside Lenox Park Association pays for it.

FAQ: Do I have to dress up?

A: You don’t have to wear anything fancy, but you can. You don’t have to wear a costume, but you can. You can come in jeans and a t-shirt if you like. It’s a party. You should come dressed to have fun.

FAQ: Is the band any good?

A: The band, KINGSIZED, is great. Last year one party-goer was heard to say, "I haven’t danced this much since my wedding!" This band will put you back on boogie street.

FAQ: What about the food?

A: The food is delicious. Affairs to Remember is a Platinum Sponsor for the Monumental Ball. They’re pulling out all the stops--it doesn’t get any better.

FAQ: What about parking?

A: There is plenty of parking in the new parking deck at Piedmont Park. And it’s just steps from Magnolia Hall where the Ball is held. It couldn’t be easier.

FAQ: How much are tickets?

A: Tickets are $50 per person. You can buy them with a credit card right here. Or you can buy them with a check or cash at several neighborhood locations.
